Extrawelt - Soopertrack

Friday's Classic # 001

Massive breakthrough for the guys from Extrawelt. Mr. Holden gave the guys the opportunity to release new stuff under this brilliant alias. A big career followed and nowadays Extrawelt is one of the bigger names in the german techno scene. The track is 8 years old already! But still very often played by many djs.

Roland M. Dill - Tzycho

Techno Thursday #001

Tzycho

German producer Roland M. Dill returns to Herzblut to a follow up to his most popular track to date, 'The Asgarde Range', with his latest masterpiece the Tzycho EP. With his classical music heritage its no surprise to discover Roland's penchant for melodic drama and epic soundscapes that have not only been at the forefront of his successful remixes of Minilogue and Extrawelt, but also provided the backbone of his releases and remixes for the likes of Trapez, Parquet and Affin. Always looking to submerse his audience in the atmosphere of his music, Roland continually seeks to bring together the ordered structures of minimalism, wild samples, the chaos of bass and sequential harmonies. His latest EP, lead by the title track Tzycho, successfully combine all of the above to create a epic trio of groove-laden, spine-tingling moments. By far Roland's finest work to date.

Ricardo Tobar - Treillis

Album of the Week #001

Garden (album)

Ricardo Tobar was born in a city called ViƱa Del Mar in Chile nearly 30 years ago. After two acclaimed 12 inches on Border Community, James Holden's label (the beautiful El Sunset in 2007 & Boy Love Girl in 2008) followed two EP's on Traum Schallplatten (With You in 2008 & Mi Pieza Esta Llena De Cosas in 2009). In 2012 he then unleashes one EP on In Paradisum (French underground label run by Mondkopf), the more experimental and highly addictive Esoteric / Carnaval.
Based in Paris for several years, Ricardo has been working on Treillis, his long awaited 1st album set to release in October 2013 on desire. Inspired by mysticism & noise, Ricardo uses old drum machines, analog equipment and also samples he's been storing since some years to create dirty sounding drums, modulated synth sounds and keeping far away from the more expected and polished sounds most artists use. In a way, his music develops the punk side in electronic music. His other inspiration on Treillis is definitely esotericism, in the way that music can profoundly touch and transport you in another dimension. Inspired by the deepness of electronic music, his music is very intuitive, the same way Nirvana is with guitars.

Release Date: 28 october 2013

Ruttenbergs - Heating

Techhouse Tuesday #001

Heating (Original Mix) [Parquet Recordings] [OUT NOW!!]

The Re:Cognition compilations by Solee always contains some nice unreleased tracks. Often tracks from Parquet artists, but also some new unknown upcoming artists. Like Ruttenbergs, a dj/producer duo, based in Amsterdam. This track Heating was one of the tracks that stood up for me. A really nice build up towards the break, creating some heat in the break and just letting it go after the break. Ruttenbergs is a project to watch out for sure in the future.

Noraj Cue - Once We Were

Melodic Monday #001

Noraj Cue - Once We Were // 4 track EP [Cinematique]

Noraj Cue is a guy who lives in the north of the Netherlands. He grew up in a partly Dutch / Indonesian family where music always was around either played by records or by family members on the piano or the guitar. At a young age he started with experimenting and used a simple keyboard, because of the drum computer and the synths. He delivers a brand new four track EP on Cinematique, filled with ingredients like beautiful melodies and an enormous amount of funk.

Nils Frahm - Peter (Max Cooper Remix)

Sunday's Chillout #001

Nils Frahm - For - Max Cooper remix (free DL)

Frahm's beautiful, clever piano melodies are a perfect match for Cooper's emotional, distinctive breed of production, blurring lines between the recital hall and the dance floor.

Max's own words:

'Nils Frahm is one of the best artists out there in my opinion, with pretty much the best live show I've ever seen. But aside from all that, this was just a really enjoyable remix to work on because the original is such a great piece of music, and seemingly so well suited to what I wanted to do with it - which was to try and turn Nils' instrumental jam on his Juno, into something house/techno/club/44 compatible, but still carrying the class and feeling of the original. It was one of those remixes that just seemed to fit and flow easily, with minimum strain and maximum enjoyment on my part - usually a good sign for a remix (the one's that have to be forced never seem to quite get there).'
